This document is not designed to provide you with a guarantee when meeting other members, but can serve as best practice when doing so.

Safety Tips
 - Never share your personal details online
 - Don’t enter into any financial arrangements online
 - Create an email address exclusively for online communication
 - Check the member’s website before agreeing to meet up with them
 - Make sure any phone numbers your receive are real before you meet up
 - Talk to the person on the phone before meeting in person
 - Don’t carry expensive camera equipment to the first meeting
 - Tell a friend you are planning on meeting someone. Give your friend all the details including, place/time/who/relevant numbers
 - Always meet in a public place with lots of people.
 - Use your instincts; if you don’t feel safe, back out.
 - Remember to protect yourself all the time, not just the first meetup
 - Stay sober

How We Help
We here at ShutterGuide are a very safety conscious group and therefore take your safety seriously. For now we have included the option to comment on member’s profiles with the hope that increased feedback will result in increased safety. In addition, for a limited time, we are also offering a “Met the Founders” badge to those members who have been in direct personal contact with the founders of ShutterGuide. Having such a badge means that the Founders of ShutterGuide contacted a member through the website and met them in person over coffee. No guarantee of character comes with the badge.

In the future we hope to increase the security features available through the website to improve your user experience and protect our community. These features will be based on features popping up throughout the social networking community.
